The terms, in plain English.
Short, because there is not much to it. One person, a fixed quote, half up front and half on launch.
This page
This summarises how I work and what the published prices mean. The written quote I send you is the actual agreement for your project — if anything here reads differently from your quote, your quote is the one that counts.
Prices
The prices on the about page are for websites, and they are a starting point rather than an offer. What you pay is the fixed figure in your quote, agreed before any work starts.
Booking systems, apps, backends and anything with a database behind it are quoted per project. Domains bought on your behalf and any third-party service your project needs are passed on at cost and are yours, in your name.
Paying
Builds split 50% deposit to book your slot and 50% on launch. The deposit is what reserves the time, so it is not refundable once I start work.
Care plans start when the site goes live and are collected by monthly Direct Debit. You can cancel with 30 days' notice. If the care plan stops, the hosting it pays for stops with it — I will tell you before anything goes offline, and I will hand over what you need to move it elsewhere.
What you provide
Text, photos, logos and anything else that goes on the site. You need the right to use them; I take what you send at face value. Work stalls if content does not arrive, and a slot I am holding open is a slot I am not filling.
Who owns what
Once the final balance is paid, the site I build for you is yours — the design, the content and the code. Your domain is registered in your name.
Tools, components and techniques I have built up across projects stay mine to reuse. That is what stops you paying to have solved problems solved again.
What I do not promise
I do not promise a search ranking, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. Nobody can, and anyone who does is selling you something. I build the site properly and set it up to be found; where it lands is up to Google and your market.
I keep hosting fast, patched and backed up under a care plan, but no host is up every second of every year.
This site
The writing, design, code and screenshots on ysbdesigns.uk are mine, except client logos and brands, which belong to those businesses and appear here because the work was done for them.
The case studies describe what was built. They are not a guarantee that your project will go the same way.
Law
These terms and any work I do are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Anything unclear
Ask before you book, not after. I would rather spend ten minutes on it now.
